Jessica Marie Alba was born 28 April 1981, in Pomona, California, USA. Her mother has a French-Danish heritage, while her father descends from Mexican-Indian and Spanish lineage. She moved to Biloxi, Mississippi soon after she was born, but three years later, she was forced to move back to CA, and then to Del Rio, because her father was in Air Force. Finally at the age of nine Jessica has some stability when they settled in southern CA.

In love with the idea of becoming an actress from the age of five, but it wasn't until she was twelve that she took her first acting class in Southern California. With drama and acting lessons under her young thespian belt, Jessica saw the realization of her dreams when she was signed to an talent agency nine months later.

In 1993, Jessica Alba got a part in the flick Camp Nowhere Camp Nowhere. She was originally hired for a short time but got lucky when one of the main actresses dropped out. Jessica, who had the same color hair as the actress, eagerly took over the spot.
